Are you feeling apprehensive after boldly signing up for a race?
Take proactive steps to ease your apprehension and enjoy the process by scheduling a call to take charge of your training journey and ensure a successful and injury-free race experience.
I am lucky that I knew I wanted to be a physiotherapist from my early teens. I am fortunate that 30 years on there still isn’t any other career I would rather do. This genuine enjoyment of my work feeds into the treatment I provide for runners who are in pain and want to keep on running.
I have over 20 years of physio clinical experience behind me, including NHS hospitals in Brighton and London UK, working in clinics in New Zealand, and continuing to practice in musculoskeletal clinics back in the private setting in Surrey before specialising in running-related injuries and setting up my own clinic to focus on offering what I know runners need. My professional experience, ongoing enthusiasm and insight drawn from my personal running journey puts me in a solid position to be able to help you.
I want to ensure you feel informed and empowered to be engaged and active with the treatment process so that you can keep on running confidently, consistently and pain-free.
At your initial consultation, we will work together to determine the optimal frequency of 1:1 clinic sessions tailored to your specific needs as a runner. Depending on the nature of your condition, the following timeframes are typically recommended:
I prioritise your swift recovery by scheduling clinic sessions within a week to provide symptom relief and manage healing effectively, answering the question of whether 'to rest or to run'
To address imbalances identified, I recommend clinic sessions between 2 to 4 weeks. This timeframe allows for progressive rehabilitative exercises to be incorporated into your treatment plan.
This takes time to integrate so I suggest scheduling clinic sessions at 4 to 6-week intervals. This approach ensures that you have ample opportunity to practice and apply any modifications to your running form effectively.
